Dr Luke Parkinson

BSc (Hons), PhD Lead Scientist – Manufacturing Development

Dr Luke Parkinson is a multidisciplinary scientist with advanced expertise in physical chemistry, bioprocessing, microfluidics, optical technologies and medical devices. He holds a PhD and brings broad capability across experimental design, process development and applied engineering.

Dr Parkinson leads the manufacturing development for the Sementis Copenhagen Vector (SCV) vaccine platform, focusing on translating lab innovation into scalable, regulator‑ready manufacturing processes. He has been key in setting up and operating SCV manufacturing within Adelaide University laboratories, enabling controlled production of viral vectors for preclinical development.

He has helped establish reproducible laboratory manufacturing workflows, underpinning Sementis’ progress toward clinical readiness for SCV-based vaccines.

Combining engineering and biological insight, Dr Parkinson advances SCV‑PHAV and the broader SCV pipeline, ensuring vaccine candidates are designed for performance, manufacturability, and future scale-up.
